ABOUT MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD)

At Body Kneads, our certified MLD therapists will apply a gentle yet potent hands-on treatment focused on cleansing the body's connective tissue. You will experience light pressure combined with rhythmic circular movements meant to stimulate lymph flow. This technique accelerates the movement of lymphatic fluid through the system, aiding in the healing process. MLD plays a crucial role in maintaining lymph fluid levels and serves as a defense mechanism against infection.

MLD is effective for a variety of conditions, benefiting those with acute or chronic illnesses, as well as individuals seeking to enhance their general health and wellness. It is particularly useful in reducing swelling, pain, and discomfort, and in preventing scarring or fibrotic tissue development. MLD is also beneficial in reducing recovery time post-surgery and is applicable for various conditions including burns, scars, post-mastectomy care, rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, and more.
PLEASE NOTE: Our offices are not sterile environments. Therefore, we require that all surgical drains have been removed and any open wounds be covered.  Some conditions may require a waiting period post-surgery or a doctor's approval. Sessions directly after surgery are typically frequent (every few days to a week) depending on client comfort and desired outcomes. As healing progresses, other forms of massage may be integrated to further enhance recovery.

Cancellation Policy:
A cancelled/rescheduled appointment with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 50% of the cost of the service.
​A "No-Call/No-Show" for a scheduled appointment will be charged the full amount of the scheduled treatment price.
