"I found it strange that athletes across the spectrum (middle-school-aged to semi-professional) had difficulty with physical pain despite daily activities in sports. Players complained of pain all the time in specific areas. I needed specific advanced knowledge, as specific care was essential to high physical performance and quality of life for each athlete I coached".
Massage training at the Community College of Rhode Island provided a firm foundation for expansion in four modalities, namely, Shiatsu, Swedish, Deep Tissue massage and Sports-Specific Massage. Sheldon's work with these four modalities, combined with his practical knowledge of the dynamic human body, provides a client-centered approach to massage.
