Cranial Sacral (CST), also known as Craniosacral therapy, is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.
The focus of CST is a gentle placement of hands to assist release of the body’s connective tissue, or “fascia.” Fascia (Latin word for “band”) is a covering found throughout the body including organs, glands, nerves, muscles, blood vessels, brain and spinal cord. This covering forms a body-wide connective network.
The client will remain clothed during this treatment. Please wear something comfortable, such as yoga pants.

Counter-indications for
CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY
CST is NOT appropriate for everyone. If you have experienced the conditions below, you must receive clearance from a physician to receive CST:
- Cerebral swelling
- Brain aneurysm
- Blood clots
- RECENT traumatic brain injury
- Structural defects in the cerebellum such as Arnold-Chiari malformation
- Any disorder that causes instability of cerebral fluid pressure, flow or build-up
