Infant massage is an age old tradition and in many areas of the world, stroking of infants is a common practice. Research confirms the importance of a “…nurturing touch in the healthy growth, development and maturation of children” (Tiffany Field, Ph.D). Numerous other studies have also shown the many developmental benefits of positive contact as part of baby’s early life.
Touch is a very powerful element in human bonding, as are communication, both verbal and non-verbal, eye contact, facial expressions, soothing sounds, and smells. Infant massage encompasses and supports all these critical elements of bonding.

Our Infant massage classes are available to parents of infants (birth to pre-crawling), expectant parents, adoptive parents, foster parents and parents of pre-term infants (babies born prematurely). Spouses, partners, grandparents, extended family members, caregivers and friends are welcome to attend. If your baby has, or may be experiencing symptoms of colic, or has other special needs, we ask that you contact us prior to joining one of our infant massage courses, so that we can determine the best way to support you and your baby.
Cost:
Individual Class: $100/parent(s) & baby.(additional $10/person if more than 2 caregivers)
Included are 2 sessions with the option of a third if needed.
Oil, mats, pillows and handouts included in cost.
Group Class: $125/parent(s) & baby. (additional $10/person if more than 2 caregivers)
Included are 3 consecutive one hour sessions scheduled one week apart. Minimum of 4 babies needed for a group.
Oil, mats, pillows and handouts included in cost.
All sessions can be held at your home or in my office (251 Waterman Street, Providence).
